The scene is set in the Blue Mountains in Sydney, with the view of The Three Sisters mountain range escarpment. The Three Sisters is an Aboriginal Place of significance to the Gundungurra, Darug, Wiradjuri and Tharawal people and is connected to Dreamtime stories, legend and ceremony.
The painting uses a palette knife to communicate the natural textures of The Three Sisters and surrounding greenery. The process allows for experimentation with layering colors and lets us step away from the brushes for a moment.
