Before colonisation, the land where the Opera House currently is positioned was known to its traditional custodians of the land, the Gadigal people. This place was known by them as Tubowgule, meaning “where the knowledge waters meet.” It was where people gathered and ate, expressed themselves through music, and told stories.
These days, Circular Quay, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House are all icons of the city and used as locations for city events throughout the year, but perhaps most notably, the New Year’s Eve fireworks and celebration. The whole harbour glitters in the evening with the lights of the surrounds, and the energy is high.
This painting captures the energy through a flurry of fluoro colors and reflective brushstrokes on the water. Customise this painting to reflect your favorite Sydney memory. A wonderful way for locals and visitors alike to connect with a very special place.
