What is included in the cost of the studio session? 

We provide all the arty stuff! You’ll have your own 40 x 50cm blank canvas (yours to take home), paint, brushes, palette, easel, and apron. Our artist will guide you through your session’s painting, step by step. We have a fridge, cold water and ice buckets you can use, as well as glassware for your drinks. 

How long are the sessions? 

Each session runs between two and a half and three hours. We recommend that you arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle in, pour your wine, and grab your paint. We usually begin painting about 15 minutes after the session start time. There will be a few ‘drying breaks’ during the session where you can get up and stretch, dance, and admire your fellow artists’ paintings!

What should I wear?

Wear something that you feel comfortable in. We provide aprons to help protect your clothes, but best to wear something you don’t mind getting a bit of paint on just in case. Bonus points if you dress to the theme of the painting! 

Can I purchase drinks?

We are a BYO venue, so don’t forget to bring your favourite beverages. 

I don’t drink wine. Can I bring other types of drinks?

Of course! You are welcome to bring beer, cider, kombucha, soft drink, tea, coffee, or any other beverage that tickles your fancy! We just ask that you leave the spirits at home. 

Can I bring nibbles or food?

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate BYO nibbles or food in our public sessions. We offer a small selection of sweet and savoury nibbles for purchase during your session if you’re feeling peckish. 

Are children allowed?

Our public sessions are 18+, therefore children are not permitted in these sessions. However, your mini-me can still enjoy a Cork & Chroma experience! We hold regular ‘Family Paint’ sessions for you to paint along with your kids (ages 6-11) as well as ‘Teen Paint’ sessions (ages 11-17). These sessions can be found on our calendar and are alcohol-free events.

Can my friends and I sit together?

Most definitely! If you book multiple seats, we will seat you together. If you book separately, let us know in the ‘Notes’ section when booking and we will ensure you are seated with your group.  

Don’t forget that if you book 8 or more seats in one transaction you will receive a 10% discount at the checkout!

Do I have to paint the same thing as the artist?

No way, José! While our artist will lead only one painting per session, we love to see where your imagination takes you. Change up the colours or shapes, paint your own design, paint someone’s portrait (maybe ask them first!) or have a go at one of the paintings on our wall. It’s your canvas, so paint whatever feels good for you. 

What if I need to cancel my booking?

You may cancel or reschedule your booking up to 48 hours before your session (or up to one week before your session for groups of 8 or more people). In the rare event that you contact us to cancel your booking before these times but do not receive a response, we will honour this agreement based on the time you made contact.

Should something unexpected come up and you need to cancel or reschedule within 48 hours (or within one week for groups of eight or more people), there is a fee of $25 per seat. 

Thank you for understanding that we cannot refund ‘no call/no shows’.

Can I leave my painting behind and pick it up later?

If you are unable to take your painting with you after the session, you may leave it in our studio and collect it within seven dayssimply drop in during one of our sessions and ask the artist or host to grab it for you. Due to spatial limitations, unclaimed paintings left for longer than one week will be recycled. Please be sure to return for your painting to avoid disappointment!

What can I expect from an online session? 

Our live online sessions are very similar to our regular sessions in studio, except that now you can do them from the comfort of your own home! The session is run by one of our experienced Cork & Chroma artists, who will take you through the painting step by step and offer tips along the way to optimise your home painting experience. In most cases there will also be a host on hand to reiterate the artist’s steps and help with any questions. There will be plenty of music breaks between the artist’s instruction for painting, drying, dancing and karaoke! 

What is included in the cost? 

Your booking covers the online session and all guidance to complete your painting of choice at home. Art materials are not included in the cost of the session but can be purchased separately via our website

I have some paint and equipment at home. Can I use that? 

Of course! We’re all about resourcefulness and working with the materials you have at home. You can find a list of the paint colours you will need for your painting on the booking page, and once you’re booked in you will receive a pre-session guide detailing the equipment you will need. If you don’t have all the colours for the painting, you can either source those which you are missing, or change up the colour scheme and roll with the colours you have! 

What if I need to cancel my booking? 

We understand that sometimes things come up. If you need to cancel your online booking we can reschedule it for a $10 fee. The request should be made in writing and must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session start time. Please send us an email to [email protected]

What kind of technology do I need for the session? 

You can use any kind of device, so long as the ‘Zoom’ application can be installed on it. TV’s, laptops, or tablets are ideal; the larger the screen, the easier it will be to see and follow along with the instruction. We recommend fully charging your device prior to the session. 

How long are the online sessions?

The session will run for approximately 2.5 hours. We recommend allowing 20 minutes prior to the session to set up your artist station and connect to the Zoom meeting, and roughly 10 minutes after the session to clean and pack up your equipment. 

Are online sessions 18+?

The great thing about our online sessions is that everyone can paint along, no matter what age!

Can I book a private online session? 

You definitely can—we’d love to help you and your group celebrate! Email us at [email protected] and we’ll confirm availability. Private sessions start from $400 for a group of up to 20 painters.

What if I haven’t received the link to the Zoom meeting?

A confirmation email with the Zoom link is sent automatically upon purchase. If you do not receive this email within 10 minutes of purchase, please check your spam filter (this is a known filter setting for @hotmail, @yahoo and @outlook addresses).

Can my housemate join the session?

They sure can. Bookings are made per device and may be shared by up to 4 people in one location at no additional charge. We ask that you please purchase an additional seat for each person in your group in excess of 4.

For example:

  • My partner and I are doing the session together in our living room – 1 seat
  • My partner and I are doing the session together in different cities – 2 seats
  • My family of four are painting together in our house – 1 seat
  • My family of six are painting together in our house – 3 seats
