What is a night at Cork & Chroma like?

Cork & Chroma is your next creative night out. The concept is simple: bring your own favourite bottle of wine, and we’ll provide everything else you need for a fun and feel good painting session. In our relaxed studio setting, you’ll learn some of the basic techniques of painting with acrylics on canvas. In between sips of wine and funky tunes, one of our artists will take you through the whole process step by step. By the end of the night, even the self-proclaimed ‘non creative’ guests will have created a masterpiece to take home!

What is included in the cost of the session?

The price per seat includes everything you’ll need for the session, except whatever you’d like to drink, which is always BYO. You’ll have your own station complete with: a 40x50cm blank canvas, paint, brushes, easel, apron, glassware for your beverages, and of course one of our artists there to assist you in unlocking your creativity.

Should I make a booking in advance?

We have limited seating, so we do require booking in advance. Check out The Calendar to pick your painting and book online.

What time should I arrive and how long are the sessions?

Our nightly sessions start at 7pm, and our Sunday afternoon session starts at 2pm. We recommend that you arrive about 5-10 minutes early so you can settle in, pour a glass, grab your supplies, and get acquainted with the studio. We usually begin painting about 15 minutes after the session begins. Each session runs between two and a half to three hours. There will be a few ‘drying breaks’ so you’ll have time to get up and stretch, dance party, or walk around to meet your fellow paint and sippers!

If I come with a group or a friend, can we sit together?

Of course. If you book multiple seats, we will place all seats together at a table. If you are booking separately, let us know in the “Notes” section when booking. We will do everything in our power to help your night be fantastic. Fun fact: book a group of 8 or more into a Public Session and we’ll give you a 10% discount to thank you!

What do I wear to a night at Cork & Chroma?

Wear something that you feel comfortable in. We will provide aprons to protect your clothes from paint, but best to wear something you don’t mind getting a little bit of paint on – just in case! Bonus points if you show up in a French beret and fancy mustache.

Do I have to paint the same thing as the artist that evening?

No way! While our artist will only walk through one painting’s steps per session, we encourage you to put your own creativity into your artwork. Change the colors, the shapes, paint your own original design or even have a go at a different painting off our wall. The night, and the canvas, is totally yours.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

You may cancel your booking at any time, up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled session. We can reschedule your booking to a more convenient date or provide a refund to the card used for booking.

Should something unexpected come up and you need to reschedule within the 24-hour window, please note that there is a $15 re-booking fee per seat. Because of the limited seating available in our studio, be aware that “no call, no shows” will be charged the full amount of the class without refund.

Please note: Group Bookings of 8 to 16 painters may be cancelled up to 1 week before the scheduled session, and Group Bookings of 16 or more painters may be cancelled up to 2 weeks of the scheduled session; elsewise each seat may incur a $15 re-booking fee.

Can I purchase wine or beer at Cork & Chroma?

No, we are BYO only. Remember to bring your favorite bottle with you!

Can I host a private party or function at Cork & Chroma?

Yes! Cork & Chroma is the perfect atmosphere for your next private event. We can host Private Events any day of the week, at almost any time of the day, for parties of 10-34. We also have group discounts for parties who book into one of our Public Sessions. Ring our manager to discuss further details, check availability of dates, and hear our minimum seat requirements.

Can I purchase a gift voucher?

How sweet of you to ask! You must be a very generous person. Why, yes, you can! To purchase, click the Gift Voucher tab on our website, enter your details and check out. You will receive a digital file of the voucher within 48 hours of your order.

Are children allowed at the events?

We’re sorry, but to attend our public sessions, you should be 18 or older. There are, however, two ways that your mini-me can enjoy a C&C experience; either book into a Family Paint session during school holidays or book a private ‘Paint and Cake’ party. May we BYO our own nibbles or food?

I’m sorry, but we’re unable to accommodate BYO nibbles to our public sessions. If you do end up a bit peckish during our session, we’re happy to offer our selection of nibbles which consists of; a selection of cheeses (serves 2-3 painters, $22), mixed marinated olives and grissini ($8), chilli spiced mixed nuts and sweet dried apricots ($8), and an assortment of Dello Mano luxury chocolate brownies ($6). Please let our host or artist know if you’d like us to bring something out for you.
