The Kids Studio – Term 3

✨ About the Program

The Kids Studio is a joyful after-school art class for kids aged 7 to 11. The purpose of The Kids Studio is to make art, explore creativity, empower creative confidence, and express ourselves in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Each 90-minute session offers a fun mix of painting, sculpture, collage, journaling, and mixed media. Kids are gently guided by a professional artist as they work with multiple materials, practice their skills, follow their instincts, and build confidence in their own ideas.

This program isn’t about perfection. It’s about process, self-expression, and discovering what kind of artist you are. We are planting the seeds of creative wellbeing now, so your child can carry self-trust, self-love and self-expression with them for life – something we see many adults in our paint and sip sessions still learning how to embrace!

Each session begins and ends with a creative circle to reflect, connect, and build community.

🎨 What We’ll Explore

Each week focuses on a different theme or material.

Here’s a sample of what the term might look like:

Week 1 – Big intuitive painting
Week 2 – Art journaling: Who I am / What I love / My inner world
Week 3 – Choose your Muse: Create like Yayoi, Frida or Basquiat
Week 4 – Sculpture: Clay creatures or expressive faces
Week 5 – Mixed media: Dream windows or portals
Week 6 – Self Portraits with a Twist
Week 7 – Character making: Mask or puppet design
Week 8 – Open studio: Freestyle or finish past projects
Week 9 – Curation: finish projects, create artist statement and title favourite works
Week 10 – Gallery Day for families (optional)

This is a sample plan. Projects may shift slightly depending on the group’s interests and ideas.

Time: Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30pm
Location: Cork & Chroma – South Bank Studio
Term Dates: 16 July – 17 September
Age Group: Kids aged 7 to 11
Price: $350 for the full 10-week term (includes all materials)

Please note: Our studio shares the South Bank public restroom facilities. For this reason, we ask that parents or guardians remain on site in case your child needs assistance. We have a comfortable outdoor seating area for you, with stools, tables, and access to wifi.

✨ For Parents: Creative Term Option

While your child creates, you can too! Our Creative Term Parent’s add-on gives you access to a simple project pack you can work on each week in our outdoor space. Take the time to reconnect with your own creativity. Please let us know if you’re keen on this option!
