Life looks and feels a little bit different these days. We’re in and out of lockdowns, wearing masks more often than not, and spending more time at home than ever before. It’s hard to make plans or to look forward to holidays or events, for fear they’ll be pulled out from under us.

Whether we like it or not, this is reality for now, and it’s outside our control. But one thing we can do is look after ourselves and each other, and find ways to stay happy, inspired, and connected through it all. Though we can’t congregate in person right now, we can still collaborate, and we can still celebrate. And an online painting session is a great way to do all of these things at once.

Why celebrate online?

Even in lockdown, life goes on. Birthdays happen and milestones come around. It’s easy to let them slip by with little acknowledgment, taking a rain check for some future time when the sun stays out for long enough for us to make plans. And look, while we can’t promise you the wedding of your dreams via online painting, we can help with most other celebrations. Celebrations are for celebrating after all, and it’s the name of our game.

It also means we can get creative with the session to match your special occasion. Friends gathering from different cities? Let’s dial down the tunes so you can catch up on life between painting steps. Hens party? Go ahead and play some games in the drying breaks! Team building event? Nothing brings a team together like a shared creative experience. Whatever the occasion, one thing’s for sure: it’ll be one to remember.

How does it work?

One of our experienced Cork & Chroma artists will facilitate your session, beginning with an introduction to the main functions of Zoom and the arty equipment you will need. Then, we paint! The session runs for about 2-3 hours and includes step-by-step guidance to the painting of your choice, with a sprinkling of handy tips and tricks along the way. In between painting steps we pop on our famous playlist, chock-full of bangers to get you singing and bopping as you create your very own artwork from the comfort of your home.

Best thing about painting from home? There’s no caps on numbers so we can host all groups, big and small. There’s no limit on how much you can dance. You don’t need to wear a mask. Your family, cats, and dogs can get involved. And once you’re finished, you can immediately hang your painting on the wall. Actually, there really are a lot of things to love about painting and sipping from home.

What do we need?

In terms of the arty bits, we can supply and ship painting kits to individual locations, which include everything you need for the session including the specific colours for your chosen painting. If you would rather purchase the supplies yourself, we will send you information on what equipment and colours you will need.

All painters will need to have installed Zoom on their devices prior to the session. Once you’ve booked your session we email you with a link to the Zoom meeting, which all painters will use to join.

Online painting sessions are a great way to gather and celebrate with our friends, family, and colleagues during lockdown. No matter the physical distance from each other, sharing a creative experience online while chatting and connecting draws us immediately closer together. Creating and connecting socially is one of the best ways we can look after our mental and emotional health, helping us feel united even when we’re apart.
