Welcome to Test Kitchen, a blog by Cork & Chroma, on living with the ‘creative condition’. We’ve had six years of experience painting with first timers at Cork & Chroma studios. If we’ve learned one thing (and trust us, we’ve learned more than that), we’ve learned that everyone is creative but not everyone has creative confidence.
It’s a resource for people who don’t consider themselves creative, and a playground for those who do. You’ll find inspiration, along with tips and techniques to get started on your next creative endeavour. Here you can peek in on other artists’ processes, gain insight on what living creatively means, and insert a little bit more creativity into your life.
Our name, Test Kitchen (or TK, as we call ourselves) comes from the idea that creativity is not always about the finished product. Sometimes it’s about simply experiencing the process.
When you’re in the creative test kitchen, each‘failed’ creative recipe will inform your choices for next time you cook something up. Test Kitchen is a name that reminds us to leave expectations at the door, tie on the apron of inspiration and whip up an unknown recipe.
We believe that thinking outside the box can lead to pain-free problem solving, and shine a light on a happier and more individual way to exist. And, on the days that the recipe is just right, and the creative kitchen is stocked just so, you might also get a delicious little imaginative morsel along the way.
We reckon that’s what keeps us going back to the kitchen, hungry for more. 🙂
